Join Our Team: Recruitment & Police Academy Support Program

The Belle-Baie Police Force is actively seeking dedicated, community-minded individuals ready to launch a rewarding career in law enforcement. Through our comprehensive Police Academy Support Program, we eliminate financial barriers to help qualified candidates transition successfully from local recruits to proud New Brunswick police officers.

Interested parties can contact the Chief of Police for terms and conditions. This program consists of identifying key people for a job as a police officer. Successful candidates will be required to complete the requirements of the Belle-Baie Police Force and those of the Atlantic Police Academy.

Subsequently, the Belle-Baie Police Force will support the application of candidates for the Academy and offer a position after successful completion of the training.

The Police Academy Support Program

We believe in investing in our future officers from day one. If you are selected as a recruit through our hiring process, the Belle-Baie Police Force will provide direct support for your training at the Atlantic Police Academy (APA) or an approved equivalent institution.

  • Tuition Sponsorship: Financial assistance options to offset or cover core training costs.
  • Guaranteed Employment: A conditional offer of employment waiting for you immediately upon graduation.
  • Mentorship & Preparation: Direct coaching and physical fitness preparation from our active officers before you step foot in the Academy.
  • Tactical Equipment: Provision of essential uniforms and duty gear required for your training phases.

Minimum Application Requirements

To enter our recruitment pipeline, applicants must meet the following baseline standards:

  • Age & Citizenship: Must be at least 19 years of age, holding Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
  • Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or a recognized GED equivalent.
  • Driver's License: A valid Class 5 New Brunswick driver's license (or provincial equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and French is required; professional proficiency in French is considered a major asset in our bilingual region.
  • Character: No criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted. Must pass a comprehensive background check and security clearance.
